Situated on the edge of the Kruger National Park 6 hours away from Johannesburg , Klasserie Dam is in the wilderness of Africa and is the place for a real adventure trip. You fish from a private Bush Camp area and live on the banks of the lake in bivvies. Facility wise there is a shower block at the opposite end of this magnificent wild lake and there are some facilities in the bush camp. Food comes cooked on the banks or from a backpackers lodge in the local village.

Klasserie is about as far away from the city lights as you can get and wildlife wise there are monkeys in the trees around you whilst various African animals wander round the woods that surround this lake. You can hear lions roaring in the distance (don't worry though, you're safe in the bush camp) and if it's a real taste of Africa that you want, Klasserie is the place for you.

As far as the fishing is concerned Klasserie is the hardest of the African Gold venues but the fish average a very good size. Mainly mirrors they average over 30lbs with a good head of 40s and a reasonable chance of a 50. The old South African record fish of 64lbs came from this lake.

If you don't feel that you are close enough to the wildlife you can take in a game drive in the world renowned Kruger National Park which is the biggest game reserve in South Africa and is situated less than an hour away. Because of the distance, trips to Sun City are not available on this venue.

If you want to see Klasserie in the flesh we do have a video that was filmed on our first trip out there and it features the lake, tactics and also loads of fish to 56lbs. Contact us for more details.
