For four years now Abbey Lakes have been a favourite of
many UK anglers travelling abroad. With facilities that
are second to none, a very high stocking of fish in lakes
that in the main can be classed as quite easy, and the fact
that the complex can be found just two hours away from the
ports of Calais or Le Havre means that Abbey Lakes are a
sound choice for first time anglers to France, or alternatively
guys that are limited on their time and want a bit of bobbins
site we have five lakes, including a match style water,
a cat fish lake with cats to over 200lbs, a new carp water
that might open towards the end of this year, and the two
main carp lakes, Fox and Heron. You can drive around all
of the swims on all of the lakes and there is a main club
house that houses the facilities. We have a restaurant and
bar, toilets and showers, a tackle shop that sells end tackle
and also bait, a bait freezer to keep your bait fresh, plus
charging points for your phone's and boats. If the weather
is poor the fantastic club house has a pool table and dart
board plus satellite television, but the main
of course out on the banks where the fishing is plentiful.
The two main carp lakes, Fox and Heron are both gravel pits which offer two different types of fishing. Both lakes are heavily stocked with carp, and if you click on the picture of either lake you'll find more info about what's on offer.
Abbey Lakes is a quality venue, make no mistake about it, and the staff are helpful and friendly, even doing your shopping for you if you want them to. With a milk and bread run brought to your swim every morning if you order it you can see why Abbey Lakes have gained the reputation of the No 1 Specimen Angling Centre in Europe.
